Uhone Luvhengo, popularly known as J-Smash in the music industry, is an 18 year-old DJ/Producer from Makhado/LouisTrichardt, Limpopo in South Africa. His inspiration is DJ Khaled. He has worked with artists like A-Reece, Flame, Tweezy, Maraza, BigStar, Zingah, Priddy Ugly, KimoSabe, Zoocci Coke Dope, Yanga Chief and others. He started as a producer for a group called Ghost Gang way back in 2014 but things didn’t work out then. He then decided to become a DJ/Producer and started sending out beats to various artists.
In 2016 he put together a smash hit titled “I Don’t See You Niggas” (IDSYN) featuring Wizibeatz, Tumi Tladi and GingerTrill. #IDSYN is a single that he made as a way to communicate to all the people who put him down that he simply does not see them anymore. He is determined to make his mark in this industry and he wants kids and youth out there to listen to the single and watch the music video so that they can see that it doesn’t matter what people say, you don’t have to pay attention to those who undermine your abilities. The track got the streets jumping and it was a hit. You may check this video on his YouTube account.
In 2017 he released a banging new tune titled “Show Up” featuring producer/hook killer Zoocci Coke Dope, Baby Boy A-Reece and The Wrecking Crew’s Flame. After the release of the audio, he turned things up by unleashing the music video. The dope video was directed by Motion Billy. Watch the official visuals on you tube…….
After a great 2017 with Show Up, here he comes with “IBVANI NDILANI/Sukani Endleneni” featuring Tweezy, Maraza and Yanga Chief. “IBVANI NDILANI/Sukani Endleneni” means “get out of the way”-a combination of Venda and Zulu indigenous languages of South Africa.
As a DJ/Producer, he is on a mission to bring various artists with different styles and talents together and fuse them to make unique music. This unites artists. J-Smash is humbled by how the artists that he has have worked with so far believed in him. He says he learns so much from them and mature each time he works with an artist. He believes that there is so much that the industry can benefit from collaborations.
In five years’ time from now J-Smash wants to see himself as one of the best DJ/Producers with a successful brand. He would like to see himself travelling the world, having his own tours/shows and collaborating with international artists. That’s what drives him to make music.
